Experiential and Co-op Affairs Commissioner

Summary of duties

  • Under supervision of Vice President Education, develops and executes CAC action plan

  • Meets regularly with Vice President Education to establish strategy

  • Is a primary support for the Vice President Education, and is regular stand-in for the Vice President on request for meetings regarding Co-op, Experiential Learning, Work Reports, Student Experience relating to Experiential Learning or Co-op, Safety during work integrated learning, and other related topics as designated.

  • Maintains relationships with CEE and other co-op stakeholders

  • Attends all meetings with the CEE Student Experience Review

  • Performs research as necessary, in collaboration with support staff

  • Represents undergraduate students on other committees as assigned by the Vice President Education,

  • Provides support to Students’ Council on co-op policy development matters, in collaboration with support staff;
  • Develops policy familiarity with co-op, experiential learning and experiential learning issues

  • Maintains regular communication with the Vice President Education and reports termly to Students’ Council.

  • Contributes to consultation and research carried out by partner organizations, such as the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance;

  • Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President Education

Qualifications

  • A current undergraduate University of Waterloo student, co-op student strongly preferred

  • Must have thorough understanding of UW’s coop program

  • Understanding of university administration, co-op policy and ancillary fee policies is a significant asset

  • Understanding of CEE is a significant asset
