Feds Employment & Volunteer Opportunities
The Budget & Appropriations Committee (BAC) is a committee that allocates fees collected through the Feds fee and for Feds commercial units, with certain exceptions. BAC will go through budgets proposed by the Vice President Operations and Finance, ask questions of the spending, and may recommend changes to the budget.
The Education Advisory Council plays an important role in the development of Feds policies (belief statements), as well as having chances for in-depth input into Feds academic advocacy and government relations. This committee is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested.
Co-op Students Council is one of the easiest ways for someone passionate about the co-op experience to be able to ask questions to Waterloo Co-op, as well as learn more about the Waterloo Co-op system.
Campus Life Advisory Committee meets as often as needed. One of the primary goals of this committee oversees the value and output of our student run services. This committee can also serve as an advice-giving place for the Vice President Student Life on certain matters or issues.
Internal Funding Committee meets as often as needed. This committee uses pre-determined guidelines to grant funding to different groups on campus for undergraduate students. This committee oversees the Enterprise, Opportunity and Innovation fund and the Special Projects Fund out of the VPSL budget.
The Internal Administration Committee is responsible for decisions regarding Federation of Students’ clubs, services and commissions. This includes approving new club applications, revised constitutions and disciplinary measures in accordance with council procedures governing clubs.
All Wellness Days Team Members are accountable to the Special Events Coordinator and the VP Student Life of the Federation of Students with guidance from the University of Waterloo Athletics and Peer Health Education.
The Federation of Students (Feds) is seeking a team of motivated students who are passionate about peer-to-peer support and getting involved with our more than 250 clubs. The Clubs Support Team mandate is to serve, empower, and represent the Feds’ clubs. The goal is to assist clubs carry out both their club purpose, as well as their current club goals.
The Federation of Students is seeking a Clerk & Recording Secretary to ensure that minutes from all meetings of members, the Board, or any Executive Committee are impartially and accurately recorded, organized and kept up-to-date. As the Federation’s Clerk & Recording Secretary, you are entrusted with maintaining an accurate, sensitive, and official record of all proceedings.
The Federation of Students aims to serve, empower, and represent the undergraduate students at University of Waterloo. The Equity Commissioner is responsible for supporting the Vice President Student Life in building and improving relationships between Federation of Students Executives, the Office of Human Rights, Inclusion, and Equity, working on equity-focused projects aligning with the Federation of Students inclusivity policies and long-range plan, supporting the equity-seeking student-run service advocacy initiatives.
The Web Developer Assistant & UX Designer will be responsible for monitoring incoming web requests and executing updates to the Feds.ca website.
We are looking for mystery shoppers (MS) with an eye for detail to evaluate our restaurants, services and retail stores. The Mystery Shop program is a paid gig, you’ll receive free meals, and it easily fits into your schedule.
Working in a team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and packaging the various items that the Kitchen prepares.
Come make movies with us! Feds is hiring a part-time Videographer. As a member of the Feds Marketing and Communications department, the Videographer will report to and work closely with the Communications & Media Relations Specialist for 6-10 hours a week. The Videographer will produce promotional video content and event coverage for use on Feds.ca and social media.
Volunteer positions include Section Editors for Arts & Sports, Head Designer, Graphic Editor, Video Editor, Satellite Campus Editor.
Assisting the Advertising and Production Manager with existing and new cold-call sales, for the purpose of advertisers promoting their business in Imprint to the UW community and the general public in Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge and Stratford.
Assisting the Executive Editor to ensure daily postings are completed for Imprint social-media channels. Connect with readers, develop content, multitask assignments from various departments and use social-media analytical tools to measure key metrics for editorial and advertising.
Enthusiastic attitude about writing and Imprint in general. Experience in transcribing, interviewing, research. Ability to plan and write full articles quickly and without assistance.
Assisting the Executive Editor and Production Manager with Social Recruiting events, Imprint training workshops, volunteer team spirit, appreciation luncheon, etc.
