Role & Responsibilities: President

The President of the Federation of Students is the Chief Executive Officer of the corporation.

The President represents undergraduates to University administration, Senate, and Board of Governors, and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of student government. The President also provides leadership and supervision to the Federation of Students.

The President sits on or chairs the following Committees and Commissions, in addition to others that are added from time to time:

Role & Responsibilities: VP Operations & Finance

The VP Operations & Finance oversees the financial and administrative aspects of the corporation. This pertains mainly to the annual budgets, human resources and business operations. 

The VP Operations & Finance also assists student groups with their budgeting, facilitates updates to the Health and Dental plan, and oversees the Marketing & Communications Department.

Role & Responsibilities: VP Internal

The VP Student Life maintains and improves undergraduate student life programs by supervising Feds student-run services and clubs, handling accountability of societies, communicating with colleges and residence councils, and overseeing projects and commissions.

The VP Student Life also represents University of Waterloo undergraduate students on University and community committees, most notably in the area of student-funded, University-run student services such as Athletics and Counseling Services.

Role & Responsibilities: VP Education

The VP Education helps students with academic and co-op issues, assists students with navigating the co-op process, and lobbies University administration and staff to improve academic services on campus.

The VP Education lobbies city, provincial and federal governments to help undergraduates access and achieve quality higher education. Visit the Advocacy section to learn more and get involved.
