The Glow Centre will be hosting the third annual Lavender Ball (previously Queer Ball) on March 30th from 8PM-midnight.
Ticket registration is free, and required for attendance.
This year's ball boasts local amateur drag royalty, performing in a sure-to-be spectacular drag show. The Lavender Ball is an LGBTQ2S+ inclusive event with a DJ, dance floor, seating space, food, and drinks.
Free food and refreshments will be provided. This is a ball, so dress to impress!
About our DJ: Rayne Rose's DJing career was born out of a simple desire: to use dance to create the kinds of queer spaces they wanted to see. In Kitchener, you can find Rayne DJing at the (ir)regular queer dance party An Army of Lovers, at house parties, and at an attic hangout near you. Their inspiration is drawn from the history of queer appropriations and misappropriations of pop music, and, like Faulkner, they believe that the past is never dead, it's not even past. Their parties are a ouiji board summoning the ghosts of gay discos past.
All ages are welcome at this dance! We have acquired a split license, which means you may purchase alcoholic beverages at the cash bar if you are above the age of 19 with valid ID. Please make sure to bring cash and ID with you if you plan on accessing the bar.
There is a limited amount of spaces available for this event, so please register to RSVP your spot. You can invite up to two (2) non-UWaterloo guests to attend. Limited parking is also available at St. Paul's and the surrounding colleges, which have pay meters. Plan transportation accordingly.
